AMCO SUCCESSFULLY FINISHES ITS PARTICIPATION IN AFZ

AMCO delivered all the concrete services needed to complete the construction of the building F-32. This is a structure of 7 levels located at America Free Zone Corporate Center in San Francisco, Heredia.

The total volume of the construction was about 7000 m3 and the concrete required a resistance of 210 kg/cm2 within 3 days. AMCO Concrete Division reached higher strengths than this one within 2 days, allowing the project to save one day for each slab casted.

Among other reasons, this construction has been outstanding because it has applied the post-tensioning technique. This new procedure reduces the time periods of construction in a significant way. According to the engineer Douglas Saenz, Chief Executive Officer of AMCO Concrete Division, this is a worldwide trend aimed to decrease the use of prefabricated elements and increase the application of casting procedures on site.

“The post-tensioning provides many advantages. In some cases, the reduction of separation among floors allows us to gain one level more. This is extremely valuable as we have a height restriction due to the proximity from the Juan Santamaria Airport,” stated Saenz.

Besides the quality of the concrete and the experience of the AMCO team, the cutting-edge architecture developed by America Free Zone in its new building, includes products from other leaders of the sector such as Doka The Framework Experts, brand associated with the biggest and most important projects of the world.
